Day 01
Arrive in Muscat, where our warm welcome awaits you to embark on the “Hidden Treasures of Oman”tour. Your first stop is Nizwa, a historical gem located 150km from Muscat. Visit the iconic Nizwa Fort, a magnificent structure that has stood for centuries, guarding the town with its circular main tower. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Nizwa Souk, where local traditions come alive. If you’re there on a Friday, you will have the opportunity to witness the captivating cattle auction. Continuing the journey, explore the ruins of Birkat Al Mauz village, a window into the lives of past Omani villagers. Admire the ancient Aflaj irrigation system, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as you stroll through date plantations. Experience the lush landscapes as we ascend to Jebel Akhdar, renowned for its terrace-style fruit orchards. Marvel at the impressive variety of fruit trees thriving here. You will then take a tour of the villages of Saiq at Wadi Bani Habib, a place rich in history and culture and Al Ain. As you explore these villages, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of dramatic peaks, rugged gorges, and serene wadis. If you join us in March and April, the air is infused with the fragrance of blooming roses that blanket the area. Immerse yourself in the delicate aroma as you witness the rose water distillation process in the homes of the villagers.
After a day of exploration, relax and unwind in the comfort of Jebel Akhdar hotel, where you’ll enjoy a restful overnight stay.
Day 02
Wake up to the breathtaking views of Jebel Akhdar and enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading to the Wahiba Sands. Traverse the picturesque Omani countryside, absorbing the enchanting scenery. In Wahiba Sands, encounter the sweeping red and white sand dunes that rise up to 200m, forming ever-changing patterns sculpted by the winds. Explore the Bani Wahiba tribe’s legacy, and visit a Bedouin house to connect with the locals
Our journey continues to the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid, a desert oasis amidst the arid sands. Nestled amidst date palm trees, this paradise boasts a network of pools with sparkling blue water, nestled within imposing rock valleys. Exploring Wadi Bani Khalid reveals that it’s not just a single spot; it encompasses numerous villages nestled in the rocky hills. Crystal-clear pools and even a waterfall await your discovery. Some parts of the Wadi even hold hidden caves.
As the day draws to a close, we make our way to the 1000 Nights Camp. Amid the sand dunes, enjoy a dinner that echoes the spirit of the desert. With a heart full of experiences, you can retire for the night, knowing you’ve truly embraced the essence of Oman’s natural wonders.
Day 03
Awaken to the shifting sands at the campsite and indulge in a leisurely breakfast before embracing the thrill of dune driving. Traverse to Sur, a coastal town that reveals Oman’s fishing village history. Explore the renowned dhow factory, witnessing the construction of local fishing boats.
As the journey unfolds, take the coastal roads towards Muscat, visiting Fins Beach, a hidden gem known for its untouched beauty. Immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere of this picturesque beach, followed by a visit to the mesmerizing Bimah Sinkhole. Traverse through rugged mountains and picturesque villages to reach Wadi Arbayeen, a haven of waterfalls and serene lakes.
Your adventure concludes as you drive through the rugged Eastern Hajjar range, returning to Muscat where your tour ends.
