Discovering Al Batinah’s Coastal Treasures
Join 365 Adventures for an extraordinary day trip that unveils the coastal wonders of Al Batinah, Oman. Departing early from Muscat, our journey leads us along the scenic coastal route, promising a day of exploration and cultural immersion.
Our first destination is the Seeb Fish Souq, a hidden gem by the coast. Witness the fusion of history and modernity in Seeb’s fishing village, a living testament to Oman’s maritime heritage. Delight your taste buds with the savory flavors of Mashakik, a chargrilled culinary masterpiece cooked in a spicy tamarind sauce.
Continuing our adventure, we venture to Nakhl, a place steeped in history. Enveloped by vibrant date palm plantations, we pause to relish the soothing waters of Ain Al Thowarah Hot Springs. Gaze at Nakhl Fort’s captivating architecture, a living relic dating back more than 1500 years. As we wander through its halls, mosque, and museum (Note: Nakhal Fort is undergoing renovation), the tales of the past come alive.
The journey continues as we ascend to Wakan Village, a mountainous sanctuary at 2,000 meters above sea level. Guided by our skilled 4WD drivers, we climb the uphill path, revealing stunning vistas from the village’s panoramic viewpoint. The serenity of Wakan Village’s terrace farms, is a testament to human resilience in challenging terrains. Our final stop is Wadi Abyad, where pools of freshwater are adorned with white sedimentation, forming a unique landscape that leaves one in awe.
