General Information
- Alcohol: Non-Muslims are permitted to bring in two liters of alcohol by air only. Alcohol should not be consumed in public places apart from licensed premises, such as hotels & restaurants. It is illegal to carry liquor in your car. In addition, the police take a serious view of traffic offenses in which alcohol is involved and fines may be imposed.
- Currency: The unit of currency is Omani Rial (RO 1 = US$ 2.63), which is divided into 1000 Baizas. Notes are available in denominations of RO 50, 20, 10, 5, 1, 1/2 Rial, 250, 200 and 100 Baizas. Coins are also in use for units under one (1) Rial.
- Dress: Oman is a Muslim country and it is important that, as guests of the country, everyone should respect the local customs. It is recommended that women not wear strappy sundresses, miniskirts, shorts or low necked dresses in public places (e.g. offices, souks, town and shopping areas). The most suitable wear in public is shoulders covered and below knee length skirts with a top that is appropriately long (below the hip) is also acceptable. Men should wear shirts and long trousers. Shorts or beachwear should not be worn except at the beach or pool area.
- ATM Machines: Can be found at convenient locations throughout the country including the arrival hall at the Airport.
- Photography: Do not take photographs of individuals without their permission. Women in particular, do not like being photographed. It is forbidden to take pictures of military facilities, borders and airports. Observe ‘NO PHOTOGRAPHY’ signs.
- Electricity: Is 220-240 Volts at 50 cycles AC.
- Village Etiquette: Drive slowly through villages to avoid raising too much dust. Watch out for children & animals. Be courteous to villagers – a few words of greetings or a smile is only polite. Do not go into a home without being invited. Remember certain areas of the village may be restricted to women only. This must be strictly observed.
Instructions During Ramadan
- During the holy month of Ramadan all Muslims fast from sunrise until sunset daily. The fixed hours of prayer are observed and during daylight no Muslims will eat, drink or smoke. All tourists are requested to avoid eating, drinking, or smoking in public. There will be designated areas in public spaces, but if it isn’t clear, it’s best to avoid them until you get to your hotel.
- Hotel’s coffee shops remain open.
- Bars / Mini bars do not serve alcohol, though it can be ordered through room service after sunset only.
- Do dress appropriately. There are already guidelines on how to dress in public, but you should be especially aware of your fashion choices during Ramadan.
- There may be some changes in the timings of forts and museums which will be communicated as per the itinerary.

Day 1 Arrival

Evening Tour
- At 16:30 hours: Begin your journey with a picturesque photo stop at the Grand Mosque, a true architectural marvel. Then, venture on to the enchanting Muttrah Souq.
- Mutrah Souq boasts a rich history dating back two centuries, making it a true gem of antiquity. The market's journey begins at a gate overlooking the stunning Sea of Oman and the Mutrah Corniche, concluding at another gate nestled within the city's ancient quarters, where visitors from all over Oman gather.
- Next, we'll head to the Old Muscat Region, where you'll have the opportunity to capture the splendor of the Al Alam Palace. This palace serves as the official residence of His Majesty, the Sultan, and stands proudly between the historic 16th-century Portuguese forts, Mirani and Jalali.
- As our journey comes to an end, we'll return to your hotel, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night at Aloft Hotel.

Day 2 Muscat - Jabal Akhdar
- Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. At 08:00 hours, you will proceed to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a must-visit attraction in Muscat. This magnificent mosque, the largest in Oman, is a testament to architectural beauty. With a capacity to host up to an astonishing 20,000 worshippers at a time, the mosque's design seamlessly blends various architectural styles. Inside, you'll be enchanted by the exquisite decor, breathtaking crystal chandeliers, and handcrafted Persian rugs, some of the largest globally.

The Grand Mosque is open for visitors from Saturday to Thursday, specifically from 08:00 to 11:00 hours (last entry at 10:30 hours). If you plan to visit, kindly ensure that you adhere to the dress code. Ladies are required to cover their heads with a scarf and should wear modest attire that fully covers them. Men should also dress modestly, and short-sleeved shirts are acceptable. We recommend wearing slip-on shoes as they need to be removed before entering the mosque.- Our next stop is the vibrant Nizwa Souq, located in close proximity to the historic Nizwa Fort. The Souq beautifully combines traditional and modern architectural elements. This bustling marketplace has been a focal point for various communities for centuries.
- Following our visit to the Souq, we'll embark on a journey to Wadi Al Madeen, a dry riverbed. From here, a scenic 36-kilometer drive along winding roads will lead us to Jebel Al Akhdar, situated at an elevation of 2000 meters above sea level. Often referred to as the "Green Jewel" of the Al Hajjar mountain ranges, this location is a true oasis in the Arabian Peninsula. Enjoy the refreshing mountain air and cooler climate.
- Upon arrival at dusitD2 Naseem Resort Jabal Akhdar, you'll check in and have the opportunity to unwind. Later, savor a delectable dinner at the resort, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 3 Exploring Jabal Akhdar
- Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at 8:00 AM. Begin your journey with a leisurely stroll through the charming villages of Saiq, Wadi Bani Habib (known as the village of old houses), and Al Ain, all nestled amidst a breathtaking landscape. These villages offer stunning vistas of dramatic peaks, rugged gorges, and picturesque wadis. While exploring, you'll discover that the villagers here produce fragrant rose water through a traditional distillation process in their homes.
- Continuing our journey, we'll descend from the mountains and reach the remarkable Jabrin Castle. This castle, dating back to the late 17th century, stands as one of Oman's most splendid architectural gems and served as a center for Omani scholarship. Inside the castle, you'll be mesmerized by the intricate ceiling paintings and exquisitely crafted woodcarvings, showcasing the pinnacle of Omani artistry.
- Our next stop is a brief photo opportunity at Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a rich historical significance. To round off the day, we'll visit the picturesque village of Misfat al Abryeen. Finally, we'll make our way back to Jabal Akhdar Mountain.
- Conclude your day with a delightful dinner and enjoy a restful overnight stay at dusitD2 Naseem Resort Jabal Akhdar, soaking in the tranquility of this stunning mountainous region.
