About Qatar
Located halfway along the western coast of the gulf, the State of Qatar is the secret gem of the Middle East. The Qatar Peninsula, a humble 11,437 square kilometers of land surrounded on three sides by the Arabian sea, serves as a bridge between East and West.
Despite year-round sunshine and temperatures ranging from 25ºC (74ºF) to 45ºC (113ºF) in the summer, Qatar has things to see and do throughout the whole year.
Located at economic, cultural and natural crossroads and easily accessible from a vast number of locations around the world, Qatar has proven itself to be a fantastic location for tourists and visitors, with many fascinating experiences on offer. Whether it is a shopping evening at the Souq Waqif, Qatar’s ancient marketplace or a stroll along the Corniche Promenade with the West Bay skyline dominating one’s views or an insight into the culture at the Museum of Islamic Art, the country has plenty of sights to see. Not to be missed are also the country’s natural bounties, such as the Ras Al Abrouq Rock Formations or the magnificent mangroves at the Al Thakira Reserves.
