Take a serene stroll in the Architectural sanctuary of The Grand Mosque in Riyadh

The Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque at al-Deera Square  Is a landmark of historical and religious significance. The old minarets featured a mix of Ottoman and Egyptian styles and were later rebuilt in the neo-Najdi style.

Legend has it that the mosque, located adjacent to Qasr al-Hukm, was once built using traditional building materials of mud, fried milk, and a roof of palm tree trunks. The present-day mosque is designed by architect Rasem Badram with structures featuring tilework, calligraphy, and geometric patterns.

The facade of brown Arriyadh limestone sparkles golden in the lights at night to create a breathtaking ambiance. The mosque is named after the founder of the second Saudi State, Imam Turki bin Abdullah, and is known for its architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Two bridges from across as-Saffat Square directly connect the Masjid to al-Hukm Palace.

This Grand Mosque in Riyadh can accommodate up to 17000 people. It also houses cozy libraries for men and women within the premises. It is advised to avoid the mosque during official executions. From here make your way to the Masmak Fort and stop to shop at Souq al Zel.
