Expedition Overview
Begin your adventure with pickup from your AlUla hotel in a Land Rover Defender 130, shared unless a private vehicle is booked. Pickup is between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, depending on the season, with the exact time confirmed on the tour date. The experience lasts approximately 6–7 hours.
Arrive at Sharaan Nature Reserve, receive a stainless steel water bottle, and enjoy a briefing from your Conservation Guide. Set off on a safari through the reserve's canyons and valleys, stopping to admire unique rock formations, ancient inscriptions, and lush fields filled with the natural scents of local flora.
As the sun begins to set, enjoy a short hike to a scenic canyon viewpoint accompanied by canapés. Continue to the evening camp and take in the atmosphere of the lantern-lit canyon before heading out on a night walk with UV lights to spot nocturnal creatures and learn about their role in the ecosystem.
Back at camp, savour a four-course South African-style braai featuring grilled meats, vegetables, appetizers, sides, and desserts. End the evening relaxing around the bonfire while enjoying stargazing, telescope viewing, and projection-mapping displays. Return to your hotel between 9:30 PM and 11:00 PM.
Important Notes:
A private vehicle is required when travelling with children under 5 years old.
Closed-toe shoes are required throughout the experience.
For winter safaris from November to March, bring warm clothing for the evening.
Dietary requirements and allergies can be accommodated with advance notice.
Unless a private vehicle is booked, the dinner table will be shared with other guests from the shared vehicle.
Bathroom facilities are available at the camp.
The nature drive is not recommended for guests who are more than six months pregnant.
